Snaps From The Past Vol.3

November 1, 2015 danielle marie crocker buchler

Day After Our Wedding. August 5, 2012 Denver Colorado. Fujifilm Instax Wide 210

Initially, I planned to go to one of the nearby drugstores and drop off a roll of film to share with you all tonight. Apparently, in 2015, not many people are getting film developed. So these companies decided all that space could be better utilized. While not convenient for me, I never thought the one hour photo was doing some of the film justice. So I sent away three rolls to be developed in about a week and will find a local developer for future needs.
 The struggle.
Have no fear! Snaps From The Past will go on as planned. I have SO many 'snaps' to share this series could, and probably will go on for a long long time. Here are a few.

Grady Gammage Memorial Auditorium.
Apparently my grandmother loved the building, it's always been a favorite of mine as well.

This Thanksgiving, I was lucky enough to sneak home for a quick holiday with my family. I was also lucky enough to have the coolest mama around.  So cool that she took me on our first mother daughter trip to Vegas. We had so much fun, went to once in a lifetime shows and were able to get a lot of quality time in. It was so needed and so so much fun! One day we spent a few hours looking through some old family photos. These albums have been around forever.  We were always told "If there is a fire, you grab the albums and GET OUT." and I can see why my mom put so much importance on them. I think it sparked my inner need to visually 'document' everything, and it was really great to have them to look back at now. I get to see my family's past from their own perspective. This week, for Snaps From The Past, I decided to share some here.

Snaps From The Past

Fort Greene Park, Brooklyn. (Disposable camera)

I'm always taking pictures.  Always.  I don't think of myself as a photographer but more someone who enjoys visual journaling. And I'm not just talking about my iphone being full of photos, I'm talking digital, disposable, vintage, film and polaroid. I am addicted to disposable cameras and ALWAYS have one in my purse.  At our wedding, we had several on each table so we could get the guests' perspective. Only one problem, I'm not as great at developing as I am at the photo taking and all of this has lead to an ever growing pile of film to be developed. (I'm starting to realize how many 'piles' I have, sorry Todd!)

So what can I do to maybe start gaining on this pile of forgotten memories? Announce a BIG
