Initially, I planned to go to one of the nearby drugstores and drop off a roll of film to share with you all tonight. Apparently, in 2015, not many people are getting film developed. So these companies decided all that space could be better utilized. While not convenient for me, I never thought the one hour photo was doing some of the film justice. So I sent away three rolls to be developed in about a week and will find a local developer for future needs.
The struggle.
Have no fear! Snaps From The Past will go on as planned. I have SO many 'snaps' to share this series could, and probably will go on for a long long time. Here are a few.
Happy Haunting!
Stay safe out there tonight Trick-or -Treaters

Fix It Don't Ditch It: Repair The Lining In Your Coats
If you live somewhere other than the equator chances are you own a coat or jacket of some kind. If you live on the equator...I guess you can just replace the word coat with, bikini and try to ignore my cold, frozen tears.
Eventually that thin lining in your coat gives up and splits...on the coldest day of the year.
So what do you do? Run out and drop half your paycheck on a new winter coat?
OF COURSE NOT! How will you afford a dozen cronuts this weekend?!?
This is a super simple fix that I think everyone should be able to do.
Keep Your Pride In Your Pants and Your Money In The Bank
it may not be able to 'Break the Internet' or hold a champagne glass, the one talent my butt does have is wearing out the back side of all my favorite jeans. We've all been there, about to slip into our favorite denim duds only to find a hole somewhere there should not be a hole...or four in my case (see photographic evidence below).
Let's face it, jeans get better with time, I'd even say right when denim starts to get holes is when it starts to really fit you best. So stop tossing out those jeans, they make your butt look so good!

With the start of a new year, many people find themselves trying to weed out the things in their lives they no longer need or break those bad habits they have been meaning to kick. Personally, I try not to make resolutions at the start of a new year. If I don't REALLY want to make the change and just make a resolution because it's 'what you are supposed to do' I will end up 'failing' fast. Instead, I try to set smaller monthly goals and a couple bigger goals that will take more time to accomplish.
Right now, a small goal we have been working on is maintaining and increasing the cooking we do at home instead of ordering in. My husband (Todd) got me (us) a crock-pot for x-mas and it has already made this goal seem like an easy one we'll be able to tackle in no time. I have plans to share our favorite recipes with you as we start to experiment more.
A larger goal I've been working on is one I had set for myself a few months ago. I want to attempt to fix and mend broken or damaged things before running out to get new things. As you are probably aware by now, I have lots of piles of projects, things to mend, things to make, projects to try and things to ... pile up. One said pile has been growing and is full of items I love but need to replace.
Snaps From The Past vol.2
This Thanksgiving, I was lucky enough to sneak home for a quick holiday with my family. I was also lucky enough to have the coolest mama around. So cool that she took me on our first mother daughter trip to Vegas. We had so much fun, went to once in a lifetime shows and were able to get a lot of quality time in. It was so needed and so so much fun! One day we spent a few hours looking through some old family photos. These albums have been around forever. We were always told "If there is a fire, you grab the albums and GET OUT." and I can see why my mom put so much importance on them. I think it sparked my inner need to visually 'document' everything, and it was really great to have them to look back at now. I get to see my family's past from their own perspective. This week, for Snaps From The Past, I decided to share some here.

I know, I know.... aren't we all SO over pumpkin flavored everything?!?
Yeah? Well, that is all about to change.
I make this Pumpkin Roll recipe about twice a year and when I do I tend to double or even triple the recipe because these rolls are not only delicious, but they make a great gift or treat for all those holiday parties you attend. If I am feeling particularly selfish, I can stick the extra rolls in the freezer and then just pull one out to thaw for a yummy dessert when I am feeling too lazy to make something. Also, I am not a fan of anything pumpkin spice flavored or scented and I love this roll. I mean it's filled with cream cheese frosting, so don't knock it till you try it. It's pretty simple to make, and the end result is not only tasty but pretty.
Isn't that all we really want in our food?
Everyone's Favorite Mac and Cheese.... yuuuuuum.
Show me someone who doesn't like macaroni and cheese and I will show you someone you should not trust. Anyone with that much self-control has to be part robot. I stumbled upon this recipe over five years ago and it is the biggest 'dish request' I get when we go to pot-luck dinner parties and family gatherings. Of course, this recipe was created by the oh so talented Martha Stewart so there really isn't much tweaking necessary.

I'm guessing that at sometime in the last few years you heard someone talking about code. You probably know someone who spends their day on the computer writing the code that makes our internet such a lovely place to website watch...window shop...peruse...
There are all types of computer programming 'languages'. Some, like HTML, CSS and JavaScript, you probably have heard of . While others, such as PHP or Ruby, may be less familiar to you.
Even though sometimes technology advances faster than we can keep up, it's a good idea to at least be familiar with what tools are used to build the places where we spend a lot of our time. Similar to when you brush up on the native tongue when visiting another country, you should also learn the language of the sites, apps and interactive websites that are speaking to you
right now.
Snaps From The Past
I'm always taking pictures. Always. I don't think of myself as a photographer but more someone who enjoys visual journaling. And I'm not just talking about my iphone being full of photos, I'm talking digital, disposable, vintage, film and polaroid. I am addicted to disposable cameras and ALWAYS have one in my purse. At our wedding, we had several on each table so we could get the guests' perspective. Only one problem, I'm not as great at developing as I am at the photo taking and all of this has lead to an ever growing pile of film to be developed. (I'm starting to realize how many 'piles' I have, sorry Todd!)
So what can I do to maybe start gaining on this pile of forgotten memories? Announce a BIG
