it may not be able to 'Break the Internet' or hold a champagne glass, the one talent my butt does have is wearing out the back side of all my favorite jeans. We've all been there, about to slip into our favorite denim duds only to find a hole somewhere there should not be a hole...or four in my case (see photographic evidence below).

Let's face it, jeans get better with time, I'd even say right when denim starts to get holes is when it starts to really fit you best. So stop tossing out those jeans, they make your butt look so good!

You guys, I'm obsessed! My table is covered in tiny gold flakes and I have no plans to clean up! (*warning: therundmcb is not responsible for any new addictions we help create) I now have hologram accented pillows, a gold foiled snapback, a shiny leopard foil triangle tank, and two VOTE tees. Yes, two...one silver and one gold, duh. I love a good metallic accent and our apartment is full of bits of copper, gold, and silver. So naturally when I decided I wanted to make a VOTE tee to remind others of the often slighted mid-term elections, I decided it should be gold. I'm Danielle... or D, Nell, Dani, Rodizzio, Faceface, Hey Lady!

If ever I am faced with the notion of having to spend money on anything, you can bet I first ask myself... 'Can I make that?' or 'Was this made sustainably?'.

Could you make a skirt out of that unfortunate thrifted moo moo? Easily.

Looking for a killer dress to wear to your company holiday party that didn't create a massive amount of waste in the process? I know just the place!

Want the trendiest shade of lavender grey hair? Well.... that's best left to a professional (trust).

After seven years of greening up my living style, I found that not only was all this making, reusing, and sustainable thinking better for the Earth, but it gave me a giant sense of pride and I-AM-AWESEOMEness that i didn't get from digging through thousands of the same mass produced racks at the same giant mass produced stores.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for following a trend or seeking out this seasons 'color' to adorn your home and closet. But I've never understood wanting your life to look EXACTLY like someone else's...not to mention the environmental cost of trying to keep up with the flock. Even if it isn't always possible or affordable to make the most sustainable choice, I like to believe it's always the right place to start. And I promise you, once you've taken the leap and get a taste of that IAMAWESOMEness, you will find yourself sharing and bragging how you got there to anyone that will listen.

I may never be able to raise my own chickens in our little apartment, figure out adobe illustrator or fix the 'talking' soles of my favorite boots. However, I can keep the landfills a little lighter and the air a little cleaner by making, repairing, repurposing, or at least buying new products from mindful companies.

Everyone should be able to make small repairs to prolong the lives of their old things.

Everyone should know where the products they need come from and what they are made of.
